Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly locked in a transfer battle to secure the services of Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kimmich, 29, has been an integral part of Bayern Munich’s first team since joining from VfB Stuttgart for a fee exceeding £7 million in 2015. During his tenure, he has contributed to his club’s success in winning 20 trophies, including eight Bundesliga titles.
Despite his significant role at Bayern, Kimmich has recently emerged as a potential target for transfer, with Barcelona also expressing interest. With only 16 months left on his current contract, Kimmich could contemplate a move away from the Allianz Arena.
According to reports from HITC, both Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on securing Kimmich’s signature in the upcoming transfer window. However, they may face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who are also interested in the midfielder.
It’s suggested that Kimmich himself is intrigued by the prospect of testing his skills in the Premier League, which could prompt him to seek a departure from Bayern Munich.
Known for his versatility in midfield and ability to play as a right-back, Kimmich has amassed 374 appearances for Bayern Munich across various competitions. He has contributed significantly with 41 goals and 100 assists during his time at the club.
