Katie Boulter recently praised her boyfriend Alex de Minaur for his triumph at the 2024 Acapulco Open final.
De Minaur won over Casper Ruud in the final, securing a 6-4, 6-4 win to retain the title. His achievement marked the first successful defense of the Acapulco title in 12 years. This win marked his eighth career title and broke his four-match losing streak in the finals.
Boulter, his girlfriend, took to social media to commend his accomplishment. “Back-to-back is ridiculous behavior,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
Boulter herself has reached the final of a tournament this week and is set to face Marta Kosytuk at the 2024 San Diego Open title showdown.
During his on-court interview, De Minaur was asked about plans to celebrate his victory in Acapulco. He disclosed that he would forgo the festivities as he had an early flight to San Diego to support his British girlfriend in her final match.
“No, I cannot because I’ve got a 6 am flight to go to Tijuana and go and watch Katie play in the final so I’m looking forward to that,” he expressed.
