The Giants officially released veteran offensive guard Mark Glowinski on Monday.

The move will provide the team with a $5.7 million salary cap relief, as Glowinski was set to count $7.2 million against the cap for the upcoming season.

This decision leaves the Giants seeking a replacement at right guard, a position where Glowinski, Marcus McKethan, and Justin Pugh all saw action last season.

Glowinski, 31, joined the Giants on a three-year, $20 million deal in free agency in 2022. However, he lost his starting role following the team’s 40-0 loss to the Cowboys in the 2023 season opener.

Last season, Glowinski started in only six games, logging 520 offensive snaps. Throughout his nine-year NFL career with the Seahawks, Colts, and Giants, Glowinski has started in 96 games.
