One day after the retirement announcement of Philadelphia Eagles icon Jason Kelce, his wife, Kylie Kelce, shared her thoughts on her husband’s speech and more in an exclusive interview with NBC10.
During the interview, Kylie revealed that she had the privilege of hearing her husband’s speech before he delivered it to the media on Monday afternoon.
“I believe I was the only one who had heard the speech before he presented it,” she disclosed. “To me, it served as a perfect encapsulation of his 13-year journey. His tenure as an NFL player has truly been remarkable.”
She further disclosed that Jason had been crafting his speech for years.
“I’ve been privy to multiple versions over the past four years. However, this rendition was entirely different,” she explained. “Each year, he seemed to start afresh, delving into what was resonating with him at that moment. When he mentioned contemplating retirement for years, he meant it quite literally.”
Kylie had a front-row seat during her husband’s heartfelt speech, including the part where he reminisced about their first encounter at an Eagles Christmas party.
“I vividly recall the moment she entered the room. The initial glimpse is etched in my memory. It felt as though she effortlessly glided into the room,” her husband recounted. “Then, when she started conversing, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Is this what love feels like?'”
Reflecting on the moment, Kylie admitted it evoked both emotions and amusement.
“It’s amusing to me that he attempts to recount what he remembers from that evening because, as I’ve mentioned before, he was, shall we say, inebriated,” she chuckled. “Nevertheless, it was incredibly endearing and kind. However, I believe he gave himself far too much credit.”

“The overwhelming love and support are to be expected, given my husband’s character and the impact he has had on people’s lives,” Kylie remarked. “Yet, it’s still astonishing.”
