The brother of LSU women’s basketball standout Flau’jae Johnson found himself in trouble after an incident during the SEC tournament final against South Carolina on Sunday.
Trayron Lenorris Milton, Johnson’s older brother, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery in the third degree after he ran onto the court during a skirmish between the Tigers and the Gamecocks, as reported by The State.
“While Milton was jumping over the barrier, the victim was sitting at the scorer’s table at the edge of the court,” stated the Greenville Police Department in a press release quoted by The State. “To get over the table, Milton came from behind the table, pushed down on the victim’s head, and stepped on her shoulders to jump over.”
The incident unfolded with just over two minutes left in the game, with Johnson appearing to elbow South Carolina’s Ashlyn Watkins during a play pause. In response, Gamecocks center Kamilla Cardoso shoved Johnson to the ground, prompting both benches to clear and leading to a larger altercation. Observing the situation, Milton leaped over the scorer’s table to intervene.
Milton briefly interacted with Cardoso before being escorted off the court. Subsequently, six players (four from South Carolina and two from LSU) were ejected, and the No. 1 Gamecocks emerged victorious with a score of 79–72.
Online jail records indicate that Milton was booked at the Greenville County Adult Detention Center on Sunday. As of early Monday afternoon, it remains unclear whether he has posted bail.
