Quarterback Stetson Bennett is expected to rejoin the Rams. According to Los Angeles General Manager Les Snead, Bennett is planning to join the team’s offseason program next month. Currently, Bennett has been training with a private coach in Dallas.
Bennett, who is 26 years old, was placed on the non-football injury/illness list at the beginning of the 2023 regular season. The reason for his absence hasn’t been revealed.
Although he didn’t play in any regular-season games as a rookie, Bennett showcased his skills during the 2023 preseason, completing 36-of-62 passes for 347 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions.
Even though the Rams signed Jimmy Garoppolo to serve as Matthew Stafford’s backup, Garoppolo will be suspended for the first two games of the 2024 season.
This leaves a gap for another quarterback who can step in if needed during the early part of the season behind Stafford. Bennett was selected as the 128th pick in the fourth round of last year’s draft.
