The New York Yankees were supposed to play against the Miami Marlins on Monday, but the start time changed because of a total solar eclipse.
Originally, the game was going to start at 2:05 p.m., but it got moved to 6:05 p.m. instead.
“After thinking about the difficulties of playing during Monday’s solar eclipse, which could cause delays during the game, Major League Baseball and the Yankees decided to change the start time of the Yankees-Marlins game on April 8 at Yankee Stadium from 2:05 p.m. to 6:05 p.m.,” the team announced on Thursday.
The gates at the ballpark will open at 3 p.m. Fans who arrive early will still get a Yankees Solar Eclipse T-Shirt, just like it was planned before.
