Report: NFL Draft Prospect T’Vondre Sweat to Visit Seahawks, Titans After DWI Arrest

T’Vondre Sweat, a promising NFL draft prospect, faces a setback as he was arrested for DWI in Austin. Despite this, he is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Titans on Monday and the Seattle Seahawks later in the week.

Before his arrest, Sweat was considered a potential Day 2 pick, labeled as a “High-Level Backup/Potential Starter” by the B/R NFL Scouting Department, with a third-round grade. He received accolades as the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and won the Outland Trophy as the best interior lineman.

Primarily recognized for his prowess in stopping the run, there are uncertainties about Sweat’s ability as a pass rusher. Concerns may arise for NFL teams following his recent arrest, although Sweat has been forthcoming about his past “partying” activities, emphasizing they are behind him.

During his time at Texas, Sweat demonstrated his skills with five sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, and various other defensive contributions, forming a formidable duo with Byron Murphy II.

The Titans and Seahawks, both in need of bolstering their defensive lines, could benefit from Sweat’s potential. In Tennessee, he could complement star Jeffery Simmons, while in Seattle, he would add depth to an already improving interior line alongside players like Leonard Williams and Johnathan Hankins. However, the impact of his legal situation on his draft stock remains uncertain, as teams may reassess their evaluations based on recent events.
