Following the Ravens’ loss in the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs, their offensive strategy was questioned.

The team ran the ball only six times in a game that remained tight throughout, drawing criticism from head coach John Harbaugh and others.

During a recent interview, linebacker Roquan Smith seemed to reference that game plan when discussing one of his new teammates.

Derrick Henry joined the team as a free agent last month, and Smith spoke highly of the impact the running back will have on the team’s offense.

“I think that’s huge,” Smith said. “I think it’s gonna make us stick to what we do, having a guy like him. Anytime you need a play with him and [quarterback] Lamar [Jackson] back there, I think it’s gonna be crucial.

I’m excited. It’s gonna open up a lot for everyone. Going against the guy, I know the type of threat he posed to other defenses. It’s gonna be scary. I’m excited to see.”

Smith mentioned that he joked with friends about needing popcorn on the sidelines because he believes watching Henry, Jackson, and the rest of the offense in action will be entertaining.
