Paris Saint-Germain didn’t have Kylian Mbappé on the field, but still won 4-1 against Lyon at home, edging closer to their 12th French league title. With five games left, PSG leads by 11 points, ahead of Monaco in second place. Brest lost 2-0 to Monaco earlier, ruling them out of contention.
Mbappé stayed on the bench as PSG quickly went 2-0 up within six minutes. Lyon’s Nemanja Matić accidentally scored an own goal, followed by a close-range goal from PSG’s Lucas Beraldo.
Striker Gonçalo Ramos then added another goal with a strong header. Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah managed to pull one back with a low shot, but Ramos scored again before halftime.
PSG is aiming for a historic treble, having already secured a spot in the Champions League semifinals and a French Cup final against Lyon next month.
Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette returned to play after a recent face injury but didn’t perform at his best, despite having a shot saved in the first half.
