Carlos Alcaraz is being careful with his expectations for the Madrid Open. He’s not completely sure if he’ll participate.

He mentioned that he’s trained well lately but isn’t ready to confirm his attendance at the ATP 1000 event in Madrid, where he’s won twice before.

Alcaraz has been dealing with a right arm injury, which caused him to miss the Monte Carlo and Barcelona tournaments. He’s aiming to win his first French Open title next month.

Alcaraz expressed that he’d be satisfied to play “three or four matches” with his current feelings. This would be his first European clay-court event of the season. Alcaraz, who has a first-round bye, is scheduled to play on Friday.

He emphasized the importance of being at his best for this tournament, especially because he gets to compete in front of family and friends. Top-seeded Jannik Sinner and third-seeded Daniil Medvedev are also set to play in Madrid. Rafael Nadal, a five-time champion, will be making his return from injury at the event.
