Brown and the Eagles grabbed attention before the first round by agreeing to a three-year, $96 million contract extension, even though Brown had three years left on his current deal.
This deal binds Brown to the Eagles until 2029. It follows extensions for other key players like Devonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, and Jordan Mailata. General Manager Howie Roseman said this is part of a careful strategy to keep the team’s core intact.
“We try to be proactive to try to keep this team together,” Roseman stated.
“That starts with [team owner] Jeffrey [Lurie] and his support… and just talking about the benefits of trying to keep it together as much as we possibly can.”
Roseman emphasized the importance of early deals in achieving this goal. The extension with Brown adds to a series of contracts aimed at maintaining team cohesion.
Brown has delivered impressive performances for the Eagles in his first two seasons, and this move suggests the Eagles believe he will continue to excel. If they’re right, his extension could turn out to be a great value for the team in the long run.
