The Green Bay Packers have brought in a lot of new players for their defense, which is under the direction of a new coordinator and a different style of play this season.

Despite their usual draft approach, which prioritizes offense early on, the Packers shifted their focus to defense in the later rounds of the NFL draft that wrapped up on Saturday.

Under the guidance of new coordinator Jeff Hafley, who took over from Joe Barry, the Packers are transitioning from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 scheme. Coach Matt LaFleur expressed optimism about the physicality and athleticism of the new defensive additions.

Addressing a major weak spot from the previous season, the Packers strengthened their safety position by drafting Javon Bullard from Georgia, Evan Williams from Oregon, and Kitan Oladapo from Oregon State. Additionally, they secured Xavier McKinney from the New York Giants in a recent signing.

Furthermore, the Packers believe they’ve bolstered their linebacker corps with the additions of Edgerrin Cooper from Texas A&M and Ty’Ron Hopper from Missouri.
