Erling Haaland returned to action and secured a 2-0 victory for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

Haaland had missed the previous two matches due to injury and was only on the bench for City’s visit to the City Ground.

However, he wasted no time in making an impact, scoring a goal just nine minutes after coming on.

The win helped City reduce the gap on league leader Arsenal to just one point, as Arsenal had beaten Tottenham 3-2 earlier in the day.

Haaland’s goal also moved him ahead of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer as the league’s top scorer this season, with 21 goals.

City, currently in second place, has a game in hand on Arsenal and could secure its fourth consecutive title if it wins its remaining four matches. This would mark its sixth title in seven years, demonstrating its dominance in domestic competitions.

City took the lead in the 32nd minute with Josk Gvardiol’s header from a corner by Kevin De Bruyne.

Despite Forest having chances to equalize, including two missed opportunities by Chris Wood, Haaland sealed the victory with another goal, assisted by De Bruyne.

However, there was a concern for City as goalkeeper Ederson suffered an injury to his shoulder and had to be substituted at halftime.
