Nathan Eovaldi pitched for 5 1/3 innings without allowing any runs before leaving the game due to tightness in his groin. Ezequiel Duran hit a double with two outs, which was followed by two more hits that brought in runs in the second inning. This helped the Texas Rangers win against the Washington Nationals with a score of 6-0 on Thursday.

Eovaldi, with a record of 2-2, kept the Nationals to only two hits and two walks while throwing 92 pitches. He also struck out eight batters, which was his highest this season. This win was his first since April 3 and his first victory in four home starts this year.

Jacob Latz, David Robertson, and Jonathan Hernández completed the game, allowing the Nationals only four hits, resulting in a shutout victory for Texas, their second of the season.

With this win, the Rangers, with a record of 17-15, have won two series in a row, something they hadn’t achieved since the beginning of the season.

The Nationals, with a record of 15-16, missed the opportunity to go above a .500 winning percentage for the first time since July 1, 2021. Despite scoring 33 runs in a previous series against Miami, they only managed to score two runs in three games against Texas.

Eovaldi mentioned feeling the injury while throwing a fastball in the sixth inning and will undergo an MRI on Friday to assess the extent of the injury.
