Corey Seager hit a home run for the seventh consecutive game, giving the Texas Rangers a lead with his three-run shot in their 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night. It was a rematch of last year’s World Series.

Seager’s homer came in the fifth inning off Brandon Pfaadt, sealing the victory for the Rangers. This was Seager’s 12th home run of the season and his hitting streak extended to 11 games. Despite a slow start due to missing most of spring training after surgery in January, Seager has now reached base in 21 consecutive games.

Manager Bruce Bochy praised Seager’s performance, emphasizing his belief that Seager would bounce back after the slow start.

The decisive fifth inning also saw singles from Jonah Heim and Travis Jankowski before Seager’s home run. The Rangers maintained their lead with a remarkable double-play assist by Adolis García in the sixth inning.

Andrew Heaney pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief after Nathan Eovaldi started the game. Eovaldi was activated from the injured list to pitch for the Rangers after being sidelined with a right groin strain.

David Robertson pitched a perfect eighth inning before Kirby Yates closed the game in the ninth inning, earning his eighth save of the season.
