Khephren Thuram has joined his father’s former team Juventus, where his brother Marcus also plays in Serie A. Juventus announced his signing with a five-year contract following a €20 million ($22 million) transfer from Nice.
Khephren, a 23-year-old midfielder, follows in the footsteps of his father Lilian, a former defender who won the World Cup with France in 1998. Marcus, his brother, plays as a forward for Serie A champions Inter Milan.
Thuram received his first call-up to the French national team last year. His move to Juventus marks one of the early signings by new coach Thiago Motta, alongside midfielder Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa.
Before joining Juventus, Lilian Thuram also played for Parma, and Khephren was born during that time in nearby Reggio Emilia.
