Tennessee coach Brian Callahan said Monday that linebacker Chance Campbell will miss the entire season after an MRI revealed he has a torn ACL.

Campbell played 19 defensive snaps and seven special teams snaps in Sunday’s win over New Orleans, which concluded the preseason. He was injured on an incomplete pass late in the second quarter and walked to the locker room.

“We’ve taken two pretty significant hits at the linebacker spot with (Garret) Wallow and Chance, and then see (defensive tackle) Marlon (Davidson) with his bicep,” Callahan said. “We’ve lost him. So, that’s kind of where we’re at.”

A shoulder injury also prevented fourth-round pick Cedric Gray from North Carolina from participating in any preseason games.

This could make inside linebacker a key area for Tennessee to address. The Titans went 3-0 in the preseason under Callahan, and the NFL deadline to cut rosters down to 53 players is Tuesday afternoon. The Titans are seventh in line on the waiver claims list after finishing last season with a 6-11 record.

A sixth-round pick from Mississippi in 2022, Campbell has played only four NFL games due to knee injuries. He appeared in those games in 2023, but his season ended a day after he was signed off the practice squad when he was injured during pregame warmups in Tampa.
