Jaxson Dart set new Southeastern Conference and school records by completing his first 24 passes and finished 25 of 27 for 377 yards in No. 6 Mississippi’s 52-3 win over Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.

His streak ended when Dart and Tre Harris missed a connection on a crossing route with 9:56 left in the game.

Dart, who had completed 30 passes in a row over two games, broke the SEC record of 23 consecutive completions at the start of a game, previously held by Tennessee’s Tee Martin from 1998.

He also surpassed the Ole Miss record of 19 straight completions set by Matt Corral against Vanderbilt in 2020.

Despite taking a hard hit from the blind side in the second quarter, Dart responded with throws of 18 and 25 yards, followed by a 3-yard touchdown run. He later threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Antwane Wells Jr. in the fourth quarter.

“Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin expressed pride in Dart’s leadership.

After a 76-0 win over Furman in their opener, the Rebels continued to dominate another lower-level opponent and have yet to allow a touchdown this season.

Henry Parrish Jr. set career highs with 165 rushing yards and four touchdowns, averaging 11.8 yards per carry.

Kiffin, who had seen much of the rushing yards come during garbage time last week, wanted to see improved efficiency. Parrish, who had just 40 yards against Furman, exceeded that total by halftime on Saturday with 92 yards and two 11-yard touchdown runs, giving the Rebels an early 17-0 lead.

Zeke Rankin made a 32-yard field goal for Middle Tennessee (1-1) with 15 seconds left in the first half. Ole Miss was ahead 31-3 at halftime.
