On Monday night, Cleveland Guardians pitcher Joey Cantillo, who throws with his left hand, retired the first 20 batters he faced. However, with two outs in the seventh inning, Andrew Benintendi from the Chicago White Sox got a single, becoming the first player to reach base.
Cantillo had previously struck out Corey Julks and got Luis Robert Jr. out with a line drive to right field. Then Benintendi hit a ground ball into right field.

In his fifth career start and sixth major league appearance, Cantillo has achieved 10 strikeouts. He has thrown 99 pitches so far, with 65 of those being strikes.
Cantillo, who was called up from Triple-A Columbus earlier that day, is aiming for his first major league win. He joined the rotation after Alex Cobb was pulled from his start on Saturday due to a blister on his right middle finger.
