Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been fined $14,000 by the NFL for a touchdown celebration where he copied a famous dance move by Michael Jackson, according to a source familiar with the situation.

This person spoke to The Associated Press anonymously because the league hasn’t officially announced any fines from last weekend’s games.

Carr was not penalized during the game when he celebrated his short rushing touchdown in a 44-19 win against Dallas. He did this by raising his right knee and making a dance-like movement with his hips.

After the game, Carr mentioned that his brothers had encouraged him to celebrate like that. “They see me all the time at weddings or birthdays,” he explained. “I’m always dancing.

One time I hit the Michael Jackson, and they were like, ‘Bro, you’ve got to do that one time when you score a touchdown.’”

Carr added, “I was a dancer in my day. Don’t let the four kids fool you.”

The NFL fine, first reported by Pro Football Talk, was given several days after the game.
