Rocco Baldelli will continue as the manager of the Minnesota Twins next year, even after a poor finish to the season that kept the defending AL Central champions out of the playoffs.

Derek Falvey, the president of baseball operations, confirmed on Sunday before the team’s final game that Baldelli’s position is secure. The Twins had a record of 12-26 in their last 38 games leading up to the finale.

Baldelli, who is 43 years old, has guided the team to three division titles in six seasons. His overall record was 457-412 before the last game.

Falvey also mentioned that he plans to return for a ninth year with the Twins in 2025.
