Aaron Rodgers was hurt and frustrated after a rainy, messy game filled with mistakes. He and the New York Jets had a chance to win but couldn’t make it happen. “The weather sucked,” Rodgers said. “But so did some of my throws.”

It was that kind of game for Rodgers and the Jets, who struggled on offense and watched as Greg Zuerlein missed a chance to win with a 50-yard field goal in the final minute of a tough 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos.

“We had some chances, but way too many mental mistakes,” Rodgers said. “Too many poor throws and then we just missed some easy stuff. Some protection stuff that should’ve been easy. Some route adjustments stuff that should’ve been easy.”

“I don’t know, our focus just wasn’t as sharp as it’s been the first three weeks.”

Rodgers also worried Jets fans when he limped after a sack late in the game. He was favoring his left leg, which is the same one that had surgery on his Achilles tendon last year, and trainers checked on him on the sideline.

“Yeah, I’m banged up a little bit, but, yeah, I’m OK,” Rodgers said, noting both legs have some “stuff” going on.

The same could be said for the Jets’ offense.

After a great game against New England, Rodgers and New York struggled in a game they could have won.

Rodgers completed 24 of 42 passes for 225 yards, was sacked five times, and hit 14 times. New York was also called for 13 penalties.

According to ESPN, this was only the fifth time in Rodgers’ 20-year career that his offense didn’t score at least one touchdown, including playoffs. This happened after the Jets had three offensive touchdowns in each of their first three games.
