By the time the Seattle Seahawks returned to the Pacific Northwest and got to their team facility after their Monday night loss, it was already 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

They have another game coming up in less than six days, followed by a game on the next Thursday night.

This situation highlights the challenges of playing in Seattle and the tough 11-day stretch the Seahawks (3-1) are currently facing.

“I’m not used to it yet. I think it’s going to take some time. I’ll be talking with the guys and getting their feedback,” said first-year Seattle coach Mike Macdonald.

The second part of Seattle’s three-game stretch comes this Sunday when they host the New York Giants, who will be well-rested by the time they reach Seattle.

While Seattle is dealing with this tight and tough part of their schedule, the Giants (1-3) will be coming off a 10-day break after losing to Dallas at home on September 26.

“I mean four games is, like you said earlier, a quarter of the year. We have a lot more football to play, and if we perform better moving forward, we’ll see different results and we’ll be where we want to be,” said Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton.

The Seahawks are also trying to understand how Macdonald handles losses after experiencing his first as a head coach in the defeat against the Lions. What worried Seattle the most was watching their defense struggle after being strong in the first three weeks.

Detroit was the first real test for Seattle, and the defensive issues couldn’t be offset by a standout performance from quarterback Geno Smith.
