During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Kraft expressed his concern over the severity of the allegations but underscored the importance of waiting for the full facts to emerge. He explained that although the initial reports were disturbing, the team and the NFL will thoroughly investigate the matter. Kraft assured that if the allegations are confirmed, Peppers will no longer be part of the team, reiterating that the Patriots have a zero-tolerance policy for domestic violence.
Peppers is accused of attacking his girlfriend during an altercation at their home, where he allegedly shoved her, forced her head into a wall, and attempted to strangle her. Police reported finding cocaine at the scene, further complicating the case. Peppers appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to several charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and drug possession.
Following his arrest, Peppers was initially allowed to return to the Patriots’ training facilities. However, as the investigation continued, he was placed on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list, barring him from team activities. Patriots coach Jerod Mayo reiterated the team’s stance against domestic violence while acknowledging Peppers’ right to due process.
Kraft acknowledged that the situation is complex, with some suggesting that the allegations could be false or part of a setup. He stated that he wants to ensure all the facts are carefully examined before making a final decision. Kraft emphasized the importance of patience in making major decisions, but he was clear that if the allegations were proven true, Peppers would be cut from the team without exception.
