The Cleveland Browns have activated running back Nick Chubb from the physically unable to perform list and safety Juan Thornhill from injured reserve. Chubb, who is 28 years old, is expected to play his first game of the season on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

He is returning after having multiple torn ligaments and two surgeries on his left knee due to a season-ending injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 18, 2023.

Chubb will join D’Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong in the backfield as the Browns (1-5) try to end a four-game losing streak. Running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out for the game against the Bengals (2-4).

Thornhill, who is 29 years old, recorded nine tackles before injuring his calf in Cleveland’s season opener and was placed on injured reserve. In his career, Thornhill has made a total of 297 tackles and eight interceptions in 77 games (64 starts) with the Kansas City Chiefs (2019-22) and the Browns.
