Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton and his family were in a car accident on Tuesday. The 36-year-old is being checked by team medical staff, according to a Panthers spokesman. None of Dalton’s family members needed to go to a hospital.
Dalton, his wife, their three children, and the family dog were traveling west on Sardis Road near downtown Charlotte when the crash happened, the spokesman said.
The team did not confirm if another vehicle was involved and mentioned that no further details were available.
Dalton became the Panthers’ starting quarterback in Week 3, taking over from Bryce Young. The team has a record of 1-4 in those games and is 1-6 overall.
