No. 21 Army will be missing their star quarterback Bryson Daily for the game against Air Force because of an undisclosed illness or injury, according to ESPN on Saturday morning.
Team officials informed ESPN that this issue is not likely to end his season. Junior Dewayne Coleman will be starting for the first time in place of Daily.
In Army’s last game, a 45-28 victory over East Carolina on October 19, Daily had a record-breaking performance. He scored six touchdowns, including five rushing, helping Army to a 7-0 record and 6-0 in the American Athletic Conference.
Daily ran the ball 31 times for 171 yards, marking his sixth straight game with over 100 yards, and he became the first player since Elmer Oliphant in 1916 to score six touchdowns for Army.
This year, Daily has been involved in 26 touchdowns (seven passing and 19 rushing), breaking the previous Army record of 23 held by Leamon Hall (1977) and Kelvin Hopkins Jr. (2018).
