Pop star Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She had just finished the U.S. leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour.
It turned out to be a great night for both of them.
Swift celebrated Kelce’s impressive performance, where he caught 14 passes for 100 yards in heavy rain. The Chiefs, who were trailing by a touchdown in the fourth quarter, managed to score twice to take the lead, and then went into overtime.
After winning the coin toss, they drove down the field for a touchdown, securing a 30-24 victory.
Kelce, who had fumbled earlier in the game, had two key receptions during the overtime drive. His 14 catches were a career-high for a regular-season game, matching the 14 catches he had in a playoff win over Jacksonville in 2023. His 16 targets from quarterback Patrick Mahomes were just one shy of his career-high.
“He does a great job of finding space,” Mahomes said. “And I think with having DeAndre (Hopkins) out there, it takes pressure off where not all the attention is on him the entire time. And whenever he gets going, man, he’s hard to stop.”
Swift is finally able to take a break after wrapping up the last of three shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, ending the U.S. portion of her tour.
The next part of her tour will be in Canada, starting with six shows in Toronto at Rogers Centre on Nov. 14, followed by three shows in Vancouver in December.
Swift and Kelce began their public relationship last season when Kelce invited her to watch him play in a September game against the Bears. Since then, the couple has spent a lot of time together, with the media closely following their every move.
Swift showed up in a black outfit and a Chiefs jacket on Monday night, just a day before the presidential election. The 14-time Grammy winner has publicly supported Vice President Kamala Harris.
This sparked some attention when Harris’ opponent, Donald Trump, started mentioning Swift’s friend, Brittany Mahomes, who is married to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as someone backing his campaign.
Patrick Mahomes, however, has chosen not to back any candidate in the election. Instead, he has encouraged people to register to vote.
