Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren left the game on Wednesday night after suffering a sprained left ankle during a 108-107 loss to the Charlotte Hornets and did not return.
The team said Duren will be listed as day-to-day. The Pistons will play the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
Duren seemed to slip on the court early in the game and twisted his ankle. He appeared to be okay at first and jogged off the floor. Duren stayed in the game for a few more minutes but left for good later in the first quarter after playing seven minutes.
He did not score and grabbed three rebounds.
Losing Duren would be a big setback for the Pistons, who had won two games in a row before Brandon Miller’s buzzer-beating putback gave the Hornets the win.
The 6-foot-10 Duren is averaging 9.5 points and 10 rebounds per game.
