Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens overcame their struggles in the fourth quarter in a big way.

More than half of the Ravens’ total yards — and 21 of their 35 points — came in the final quarter of Thursday night’s game, as they made a comeback to beat Cincinnati 35-34. Baltimore was down by 14 points in the third quarter, which was unusual for this team, but it was clearly a deficit they could overcome.

“It’s huge,” tight end Mark Andrews said. “A lot of teams can kind of go in the tank and shut it down when things aren’t going our way, and we fought an uphill battle for most of the game.

Again, just the belief and the fight and the resiliency that the guys had throughout four quarters and just understanding that we have no quit.”

The Ravens (7-3) are very tough to beat by a large margin. They hadn’t been down by 14 points with Lamar Jackson healthy and playing since Nov. 7, 2021, when they played against Minnesota.

The bigger issue for the Ravens has been finishing games. Before facing Cincinnati, Baltimore had been outscored 93-61 in the fourth quarter. They lost a 10-point lead to the Raiders, almost lost a bigger lead at Dallas, and allowed three fourth-quarter touchdowns in a win at Tampa Bay.

On Thursday, the Ravens outscored the Bengals 21-13 in the fourth quarter and gained 231 yards in that period alone.
