Toronto Maple Leafs center Calle Jarnkrok is expected to be out for a month or more after having surgery for a groin issue and sports hernia, the team announced on Monday.
Jarnkrok, 33, has yet to play this season.
Last year, he scored 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in 52 games for the Leafs.
A former second-round draft pick, Jarnkrok has 301 career points (136 goals, 165 assists) in 699 games played with four teams, most notably the Nashville Predators (2013-2021).
Jarnkrok is in the third year of a four-year, $8.4 million contract with Toronto.
