Norman Powell, the leading scorer for the Los Angeles Clippers, will miss Sunday’s road game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to a left hamstring strain.
Powell, who has averaged 23.3 points per game in 15 games this season, got hurt in the first quarter of a 102-99 win against the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Despite the injury, he finished the game with a team-high 23 points.
The Clippers have won both games Powell has missed and are heading into a four-game road trip on a four-game winning streak.
In his 10 years in the NBA, Powell has averaged 12.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 572 career games (214 starts). After Paul George left for the 76ers and Kawhi Leonard’s knee injury kept him from playing this season, Powell was asked to take on a bigger scoring role.
Leonard, still recovering from his injury, has also been ruled out for Sunday’s game.
