Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 37 points and added 11 assists to help the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Sacramento Kings 130-109 on Monday night.
Jalen Williams also had a strong performance, contributing 28 points, as the Thunder won their second straight game after a two-game losing streak. Isaiah Hartenstein finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Ajay Mitchell scored 15 points off the bench.
DeMar DeRozan led the Kings with 30 points and six assists, while Domantas Sabonis added 21 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals. Sacramento’s losing streak reached four games, their longest of the season.
De’Aaron Fox, who had been averaging 39.4 points over his last five games, only scored 14 points in this game. Keegan Murray and Malik Monk each had 14 points for Sacramento, with Murray also grabbing 10 rebounds.
Oklahoma City shot 55.8 percent from the field and made 14 of 31 three-point attempts. Gilgeous-Alexander was efficient, hitting 13 of 20 shots, and Williams made 10 of 16. Kenrich Williams contributed 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists off the bench for the Thunder, who outscored the Kings 67-47 in the second half.
The Kings made 48.3 percent of their shots but struggled from beyond the arc, making just 8 of 32 three-pointers.
Sacramento was trailing 79-78 after Sabonis scored with 5:09 left in the third quarter. The Thunder then went on a 13-2 run, with Gilgeous-Alexander scoring the last five points of the run, pushing Oklahoma City to a 92-80 lead with 1:38 left. Mitchell hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Thunder a 97-84 lead heading into the final quarter.
Mitchell’s layup made it 104-86 with 10:17 remaining. The Kings briefly cut the lead to 12 points, but Jalen Williams scored the next 11 points for Oklahoma City, including three three-pointers, to extend the lead to 119-103 with 5:11 left. Hartenstein added a three-point play, making it a 19-point lead, and the Thunder cruised to victory.
Gilgeous-Alexander scored 18 points in the first half, helping Oklahoma City lead 63-62 at halftime. DeRozan scored 19 points in the first half for the Kings.
