After catching a touchdown pass on “Sunday Night Football,” Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the California Highway Patrol, who released the news on Monday.
The police report states that Robinson was driving a Dodge sedan at speeds over 100 mph on US-101 in Woodland Hills, California, at 5:13 a.m. on Monday. Officers said Robinson displayed “objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment.” He was given a citation and then released to “a responsible party,” according to the CHP.
The Rams have not yet commented on the situation, as reported by NFL.com.
Robinson had a 2-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter of the Rams’ 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. He had one more reception in the game, which gained 13 yards.
The 30-year-old Robinson is in his ninth NFL season, and his second with the Rams. This season, he has caught 26 passes for 384 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games, all of which were starts.
Robinson was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft from Florida. He spent six seasons in Kansas City, where he helped the team win the Super Bowl after the 2019 season. In 2022, he played for the Baltimore Ravens.
Over his career in the NFL, Robinson has played in 141 games (62 starts) and has 245 receptions for 2,892 yards and 26 touchdowns.
