With just two games remaining in the 2024 season, the Miami Dolphins aim to finish on a high note. However, their efforts will be without the contribution of two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Bradley Chubb.

Chubb had been practicing for weeks, but head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed that the star defender is not ready to return to action.

When asked if the team’s slim chances of making the playoffs influenced the decision, McDaniel firmly denied it.

Chubb, widely regarded as one of the NFL’s most formidable linemen when healthy, has struggled with injuries throughout his career. Since joining the Dolphins, he has played in 23 games, recording 13.5 sacks, per Pro Football Reference.

These impressive stats rank among the best on the team, but injuries—including a season-ending knee issue last year—have significantly impacted his availability.

“He’s been fully committed to the entire recovery process to be the Bradley Chubb this team needs,” McDaniel said.

“He understands what that looks like. He’s been incredibly patient, open-minded, and shown growth throughout the process.” McDaniel expressed full confidence that Chubb would return strong for the 2025 season.

Chubb isn’t the only player the Dolphins will miss as they face the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.

The team announced that cornerback Kendall Fuller would also be sidelined due to a knee injury sustained in last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Fortunately, the injury is not expected to be serious.

On a more positive note, linebacker Jordyn Brooks provided some encouragement for Miami fans. Brooks, who suffered knee and quadriceps issues last week, reported that he’s “feeling good” and is trending toward being available for Sunday’s matchup.

“I’m doing good. It was nothing serious,” Brooks said. “Going through adversity earlier in the season as a team was challenging, but it’s been a great experience playing with the guys I get to share the field with. I’m ready to finish strong.”

The Dolphins recently kept their playoff hopes alive with a critical 29-17 victory over the 49ers. While the path to the postseason remains a long shot, Miami is focused on closing the season with resilience and determination.
