Linesman Jonny Murray Leaves Game After Collision with Toews

Collision with Toews in the Second Period

Jonny Murray, a linesman, was injured and left the game during the third period after briefly returning following a collision in the second period of the Avalanche vs. Winnipeg game on Wednesday night.

Injury Details

Colorado defenseman Devon Toews was skating with Winnipeg’s Kyle Connor in the Winnipeg zone when the collision occurred near Murray’s right knee at 7:26 of the period. Murray spun and fell to the ice, staying down on his hands and knees while Colorado’s trainers attended to him.

Return and Exit

Murray was able to get up and leave the ice with help from Avalanche trainers. Play continued with Tyson Baker as the only linesman for the rest of the second period. Murray returned to the ice to start the third period but later left again and did not return.
