Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison has entered a no-contest plea to a reduced charge following his 2024 DUI arrest in California. The 23-year-old third-year NFL player was originally arrested after being found asleep behind the wheel of a car near Los Angeles International Airport.

Instead of facing a full DUI charge, Addison agreed to a “wet reckless” plea — a California misdemeanor indicating that alcohol or drugs were involved in the reckless driving incident.

Probation and Possible NFL Discipline After Plea Deal

Addison’s attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, stated that while the case could have gone to trial, her client chose to accept responsibility and move forward. The “wet reckless” charge avoids a full DUI conviction but still carries consequences. As part of the plea deal, Addison is required to complete two online courses and pay a fine. He will also serve a 12-month probation, which may be reduced to six months depending on compliance.

Despite the legal resolution, Addison may still face disciplinary measures from the NFL. The league confirmed that it is closely following the case and that it remains under review. Addison, for his part, has expressed willingness to accept any decision the league makes, stating, “I’ll own up to everything… anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved.”

Addison Remains Committed to Team, Career Growth Following Legal Resolution and NFL Review

Addison’s agent released a statement on social media affirming that the player has kept the team informed throughout the legal process. The statement emphasized Addison’s ongoing dedication to being a valuable contributor to the Minnesota Vikings, highlighting his full commitment to his professional responsibilities and personal growth following the incident.

Since being drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Addison has become a key player for the Vikings. Over two seasons, he has amassed 133 receptions for 1,786 yards and 19 touchdowns, demonstrating his potential as a top-tier receiver. With his legal matters resolved and support from his team and representation, Addison is now focused on continuing his promising NFL career.
