Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury on a misdemeanor charge of failure to report a felony. Authorities allege Sneed observed a felony in December 2024, under circumstances that could have caused serious injury or death, and did not report it to law enforcement. The charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in county jail and/or a $4,000 fine.
Exotic Car Dealership Shooting Leads to Criminal Charges and Million-Dollar Lawsuit Filed
The incident reportedly occurred on December 6, 2024, at a Carrollton, Texas, car dealership. Christian Nshimiyimana, an exotic car rental business owner, claims Sneed and his personal assistant arrived in a rented Lamborghini Urus and fired at him while he was sitting in a Mercedes G-Wagon. Nshimiyimana says he did not know Sneed personally and did not recognize him from his NFL career.

In addition to the criminal case, Nshimiyimana filed a $1 million civil lawsuit against Sneed and a John Doe defendant on February 20, 2025. The lawsuit describes the incident as “an unprovoked attack in cold blood and broad daylight.” Following the shooting, Carrollton police arrested Sneed and his accomplice on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Questions Arise Over Motive as Shooting May Involve Mistaken Identity Claims
The lawsuit indicates that the shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity. Nshimiyimana recalls seeing Sneed and his assistant at the dealership, but asserts that he had never met Sneed before. This raises questions about the defendants’ intended target and their motive for the attack.
Sneed, 28, joined the Titans in March 2024 with a four-year, $76 million contract after winning two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played seven games for the Titans this season, recording 26 tackles and three pass breakups, before being placed on injured reserve due to a quadriceps injury sustained against the New England Patriots on October 19.
