Odell Beckham Jr. is signaling that he isn’t done with professional football yet. The former NFL star took part in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic over the weekend, his first competitive football appearance since December 2024. During the event, Beckham showcased his receiving skills, including a one-handed touchdown catch, and expressed hope that the flag football experience could help him secure another NFL opportunity. “Looking forward to hopefully getting an opportunity to play this year, and hopefully, this is kinda just a starting point,” he told Kay Adams.

Beckham also addressed the possibility of returning to the New York Giants, his original NFL team. He praised young quarterback Jaxson Dart, noting the excitement of potentially mentoring the rising star. “If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that… He’s a good dude. He’s young, and he likes to dance. I like all that,” Beckham said.

Beckham’s Skills Remain, But Questions Linger About Age And Athletic Decline

While his catching ability remains undeniable, questions about his speed, agility, and ability to consistently get open against younger defenders persist. The 33-year-old former No. 12 overall pick has experienced a decline in production after stellar early seasons, with stops in Cleveland, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Miami. After limited play in Miami, Beckham was released in December 2024, and no teams have publicly pursued him since.

Still, Beckham’s talent and memorable highlight-reel plays leave the door open for a comeback. His strong showing in the flag football event serves as a reminder that he could still make an impact if a team decides to give him another chance in the NFL.
