Andrew Nembhard made a crucial 31-foot 3-pointer with only 16 seconds left, Tyrese Haliburton scored 35 points, and the Indiana Pacers came from behind in the fourth quarter to defeat the injured New York Knicks 111-106 on Friday night in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Despite the loss, the Knicks still hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 will take place on Sunday in Indianapolis.
The Knicks had a nine-point lead with 9:45 left in the game and were close to securing a 3-0 series lead, but with Jalen Brunson struggling due to a right foot injury, they couldn’t maintain their advantage.
Nembhard only scored five points, all of which came in the final minute, while Haliburton achieved his second consecutive career-high playoff score. Pascal Siakam contributed 26 points and seven rebounds, and Myles Turner added 21 points and 10 rebounds.
