Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate at Al-Nassr, David Ospina, is reportedly on track to rejoin the first-team training later this month after recovering from a recent thigh injury.

Ospina, 35, joined Al-Nassr from Serie A club Napoli in the summer of 2022. He showcased his prowess with nine clean sheets in 14 appearances across various competitions before sustaining a fractured elbow in January 2023.

Following his recuperation from the elbow injury, the former Arsenal star made a comeback for Colombia in a friendly match against Mexico last December. He also featured in Al-Nassr’s recent 6-0 friendly triumph against Inter Miami. However, he suffered a thigh injury during his return to action.

According to reports from the Saudi Arabian news outlet Arriyadiyah, Ospina is expected to resume group training with Al-Nassr later this week.

He engaged in individual training over the past weekend following a session at the club’s clinic, preceding his team’s 3-2 victory against Al-Shabab. Ospina, who is yet to share the field with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, boasts an impressive career, having won four trophies during his stints at Arsenal and Napoli.

With 70 appearances for Arsenal and 103 matches for Napoli, Ospina brings a wealth of experience to the Al-Nassr squad.
