A WWE veteran has expressed skepticism about Cody Rhodes’ ability to hold his own against The Rock in a verbal confrontation.
“The Rock is quite possibly the greatest talker in the history of the business,” the veteran acknowledged. Indeed, The Rock’s exceptional microphone skills propelled him into Hollywood over two decades ago, leading to his monumental success as one of the world’s most prominent actors.
During a discussion on the latest episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray suggested that Cody Rhodes would struggle to match The Rock’s verbal prowess and would ultimately be outclassed by The Great One.
According to Bully Ray, “The way Cody defeats The Rock if The Rock becomes entirely too entertaining. And it’s coming over the top of Cody. The last thing Cody should do is to try to match The Rock on the mic. It’s not happening. Rocky will destroy Cody on the mic.
That’s not because Cody’s not good on the mic, it’s just that it’s The Rock and he’s superior.” Bully Ray went on to note that only John Cena has successfully engaged in a verbal sparring match with The Rock, with CM Punk also managing to hold his own against The Brahma Bull in a promotional exchange.
