The ongoing internal upheaval at Red Bull Racing, triggered by the closure of the investigation into Christian Horner by the parent company, has sparked widespread speculation about potential departures, including notable figures like Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey.
Despite the turbulence, concerns about Adrian Newey’s departure seem to be unfounded within the team. While there were rumors suggesting dissatisfaction and a possible reassignment to work on projects outside of Formula 1, insiders at Red Bull have dismissed these speculations.
During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend, tension escalated when Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s motorsport consultant, hinted at the possibility of suspension from Red Bull GmbH.
However, after discussions with CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, Marko affirmed his commitment to see out his contract, which helped stabilize Max Verstappen’s stance within the team.
Regarding Adrian Newey, there have been rumors suggesting discontent and a potential move to other teams, such as Ferrari or Mercedes. However, Red Bull sources have clarified that Newey is fully engaged in the RB17 project and remains committed to the team. Furthermore, he has recently signed a new long-term contract, dispelling any notions of his imminent departure from Milton Keynes.
