After taking a break last season to have back surgery, Fox’s rules analyst Mike Pereira shared on social media that he’s all set to come back. He’ll be working two UFL games on Fox this Saturday.
“About six months ago, I said I was going to take a year off at Fox due to back surgery,” Pereira wrote. “Five months ago, I had surgery to fuse my back on seven levels, T11 to S1.
It was a long surgery, lasting eight and a half hours! During recovery, they asked me what my goals were. I had two goals. First, I wanted to be able to walk again. Second, I wanted to get back to work.”
Pereira mentioned he’s now walking a couple of miles every day and continuing with physical therapy. He plans to resume his regular schedule of covering college and NFL games this season. “I’m back (whether you like it or not)!” Pereira said, thanking everyone for their support.
Football fans appreciate Pereira’s presence, as he explains the rules only. With years of experience as a football official and as vice president of officiating for the NFL, he knows his stuff. Pereira joined Fox in 2010.
