Shannon Frizell, a player, is almost ready to play for the national team again after waiting patiently while being bored during his time off due to a hamstring injury.

Frizell, who is 29 years old, played exceptionally well in The Rugby Championship and gained a lot of attention. People even compared him to a New Zealand legend named Jerome Kaino.

But just before the Rugby World Cup, something disappointing happened to Frizell. Before the All Blacks’ last practice game against the Springboks, he got injured.

The All Blacks played three games without Frizell, and they only won one of them – a big win of 71-3 against Namibia in Toulouse last week. But Frizell will be returning soon.

Frizell has been training with the All Blacks this week and claims he could be “available” for next Friday’s crucial Rugby World Cup match against Italy. “It is been a long road, and I’m getting better now.

I have been running for a few weeks and started training again for the first time last week,” Frizell told reporters on Friday. “This week, I had a few days off and rest, but I also had a few days of hard training.

“It was boring to watch from the sidelines. I hope you can use it next week.” It is always hard to watch, but you just have to be patient.”

He Was Really Good When the All Blacks Were Trying to Win the Rugby Championship

Frizell’s return could not have come at a better time, as the All Blacks currently face a bye in Bordeaux ahead of a semi-knockout game against the Azzurri.

Lock Tupou Vaa’i played in a different position, blindside flanker, in the game against France at the start of the tournament, and Luke Jacobson wore the No. 6 jersey in the match against Namibia.

But it looks like Frizell is the one who usually wears that jersey. He was really good when the All Blacks were trying to win the Rugby Championship, so there’s a good chance he’ll go back to playing in the team.

“I think his best rugby is still ahead of him,” assistant coach Jason Ryan said. “He is a big six and a very valuable player in our lineup.
