Tyler Anderson pitched for seven innings without allowing any runs, Aaron Hicks hit a home run, and the Los Angeles Angels defeated Miami 3-1 on Tuesday. This caused the Marlins to have their worst start ever in their team history.

Anderson, who had his first win of the season, gave up only four hits, walked twice, and struck out five. He was taken out of the game after throwing 83 pitches.

Hicks hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, giving the Angels a 1-0 lead. It was his first hit with the team after starting the season with an 0-for-11 streak. Hicks expressed his relief and happiness after getting his first hit.

The Angels added to their lead with RBI singles from Hicks and Taylor Ward in the sixth inning. Bryan De La Cruz hit a home run for the Marlins in the ninth inning, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of the game.

Miami’s starting pitcher Jesús Luzardo gave up three runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings. Despite the loss, Luzardo and his teammates remain positive and determined to turn things around.

Logan O’Hoppe had a double and a single for the Angels, who have now won three games in a row after starting the season with two losses.

Angels rookie Nolan Schanuel continued his impressive start by drawing two walks, extending his streak of reaching base safely in every game he has played so far. The Marlins made a defensive move by acquiring infielder Emmanuel Rivera from the Arizona Diamondbacks and designating infielder Jacob Amaya for assignment.
