Andy Jefferson, a prominent figure in the motocross community, will be honored with induction into the Legends and Heroes Moto Museum during the upcoming Supercross event in Salt Lake City, UT, on May 11th, 2024.
This recognition highlights his significant contributions to the sport over the years. Attendees are encouraged to join in the celebration and visit the museum’s display in the Fan Fest area prior to the racing activities.
Jefferson’s journey in motocross dates back to 1970, when he first acquired a motorcycle. His passion for the sport led him to compete on the challenging desert tracks of Southern California.
His talent caught the attention of Mitch Payton, leading to an opportunity to ride in AMA Nationals and Supercross events under the Pro Circuit team banner alongside notable teammates. Despite facing obstacles, such as knee injuries, Jefferson remained dedicated to the sport that had become integral to his life.
Following his racing career, Jefferson transitioned into the motorcycle industry, starting at Husqvarna as the National After Sales Manager after a hiatus of 27 years. In this role, he oversaw service, aftermarket parts, and customer relations for the brand.
With the acquisition of Husqvarna by Pierer Mobility in 2013, Jefferson’s responsibilities expanded to encompass media relations for various motorcycle and bicycle brands under Pierer’s corporate umbrella, including KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, and Felt.
Jefferson’s extensive background as a racer, including winning an Over 40 World Vet Championship, positioned him as a valuable asset for the R&D department’s test program. His wealth of experience and knowledge contributes to the development and refinement of products within the motorcycle industry.
The induction into the Legends and Heroes Moto Museum serves as a testament to Jefferson’s lasting impact and dedication to the world of motocross, both on and off the track.
