Nolan Arenado and Nolan Gorman both hit two-run home runs, helping Kyle Gibson and the St. Louis Cardinals secure a 7-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.

Iván Herrera had three hits for the Cardinals, who have won 11 of their last 14 games. Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan each contributed with two hits.

Gibson pitched six innings, allowing only two hits. He struck out six batters and walked two.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol praised Gibson’s performance, highlighting his ability to keep the Reds’ hitters off balance throughout the game.

Gibson has consistently pitched at least six innings in nine of his 11 starts this season. His last outing was shortened to four innings due to a rain delay.

Cincinnati had been on a winning streak, but Will Benson’s home run in the sixth inning was their first hit of the game.

Cincinnati’s pitcher Andrew Abbott gave up six runs and seven hits in six-plus innings. Despite his recent strong performances, Abbott struggled in this game.

The Cardinals took the lead with Masyn Winn’s RBI double in the third inning, ending Abbott’s 14-inning scoreless streak. Winn extended his hitting streak to 17 games.

In the fourth inning, Herrera singled and Arenado followed with a home run, marking his fourth homer of the season and his first since May 13.
