Aston Martin F1 has denied rumors of making a significant offer to recruit Adrian Newey, a Red Bull F1 design expert, aiming to address speculation during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The alleged offer was speculated to be part of owner Lawrence Stroll’s ambition to transform the team into an F1 powerhouse.
There were suggestions that such a move could influence star driver Fernando Alonso’s contract decision or potentially sway Max Verstappen to switch teams. However, Aston Martin F1’s principal, Mike Krack, dismissed the idea of luring Newey away from Red Bull, firmly denying any validity to the reports.
Krack straightforwardly rejected the notion of an extravagant offer, expressing confidence in the current technical team, including Dan Fallows, Tom McCollough, Luca Furbatto, and recent addition Bob Bell. He stressed contentment with the existing talent pool, signaling a commitment to the team’s current setup.
